Trademarks/Service Marks/Logos

All of the Gran Fondo New York Inc. ("GFNY") trademarks, service marks and logos are a part of GFNY’s Intellectual Property assets ("IP Assets") and are protected by applicable trademark, copyright or other IP laws.

If you are a Sponsor or Licensee of GFNY that is contractually entitled to use an GFNY trademark, service mark or logo (the "Marks"), please follow the specific usage guidelines provided as a part of your sponsorship or license agreement.  If you have questions regarding your use as is outlined in your specific agreement, please contact GFNY at info@gfny.com.

If you are not a Sponsor or Licensee of GFNY that is contractually entitled to use the Marks, please be advised that GFNY normally does not grant third party use of its Marks.  Permissions are granted solely at the discretion of GFNY as owner of the Marks. To obtain an extraordinary permission, provide your extraordinary reasons by email to support@gfny.com

GFNY’s IP Assets consist of many pending applications and registrations in the United States and in numerous foreign countries.  The IP Assets, in part, include the following:

Copyrights

Copyrights make up a portion of GFNY’s IP Assets in the form of film footage, photographs, publications, graphic designs and more (the Copyrights").   Unauthorized use of GFNY’s Copyrights is not allowed.  Anyone who violates the exclusive rights of GFNY’s Copyrights may be subject to damages, costs and attorneys. 

If you are not a Sponsor or Licensee of GFNY that is contractually entitled to use GFNY’s Copyrights and feel that extraordinary special circumstances may apply to justify permission to use certain GFNY Copyrights, please contact support@gfny.com. 

Domains

Domain registrations are also an integral part of GFNY’s IP Assets.  Whether you are a Sponsor or Licensee of a Mark, registering a domain containing GFNY’s identical Marks or a confusingly similar mark is strictly prohibited. 

If you are a Licensee of GFNY that is contractually entitled to use GFNY’s IP Assets and require a domain to be registered in order to fulfill your contractual obligations, please email support@gfny.com.

If you are not a Sponsor or Licensee of GFNY that is contractually entitled to use GFNY’s IP Assets, please be aware that GFNY closely monitors domains registered on a global basis that contain GFNY’s Marks.  GFNY takes all appropriate and necessary actions to either see that domain registrations containing our Marks are transferred to GFNY or, in the case of uncooperative parties, legal action is taken. 

Frequently Asked Questions

1. If I do not have a sponsorship or license agreement, am I allowed to freely use GFNY’s Marks or Copyrights?

No.  All use must either be licensed or authorized under extraordinary special circumstances, which may/may not be granted at GFNY’s discretion.

2. As a GFNY rider, am I allowed to design and have shirts, hats or other apparel items that say GFNY?

No. We have a large selection of apparel and gear at www.gfny.com/shop.

3. If I am going to register an internet domain, can I use GFNY in the name?

No.  Using any GFNY Mark, in whole or in part (or a confusingly similar trademark), may lead to legal actions or infringement/cybersquatting claims.

4. I want to start my own company and use GFNY in my company name.  Is this permissible?

No.
