Kvalifikation

GFNY er åbent for alle

 
GFNY is open to all fitness levels and to any athlete over age of 18. To register, go to gfny.cc/user/register or go to the race’s website and register there. You do not need to qualify to take part in GFNY. 
 
GFNY is a cycling marathon. Some riders will compete for the podium, others will do their best to beat the cut-off. GFNY is about doing your best. You make the event what you want it to be. But it is meant to be a personal challenge. 
 
Athletes can choose between two distances: long route and medium route. The medium course is a non-competitive, recreational ride. Your total time is provided, but there are no rankings. The long route riders are taking part in a competitive race. All finishers are ranked overall and in their age group.
 
You don’t need to be a licensed racer with your federation to take part in GFNY. Some races require you to have a license, and if you do not have that race’s domestic annual license or an annual international UCI license, you must present a medical certificate and purchase a 1-day license . Some races require you to present a medical certificate but do not require a license.

Tilmelding

Kvalifikation

Kvalifikations status giver adgang til Qualifier Corral ved alle GFNY World-løb.

Qualification is based on placement in your age group. Age group results are based on chip time. Overall rankings are based on gun time and an athlete who has a faster gun time may see qualifiers who were slower by gun time, but they had faster chip times.

Top 20 % i hver aldersgruppe ved regionale mesterskaber og verdensmesterskabet

Afrunding sker opad fra 0,5. Eksempel: Hvis der er 15 deltagere i en aldersgruppe, kvalificeres de 2 bedste ryttere.

Kvalifikation beregnes på baggrund af de officielle, endelige resultater og ikke de foreløbige resultater. Final results are usually ready 1-2 weeks after a race, although larger events may need 2 weeks or longer to issue final results. Stay tuned for communication from your race via email or social announcing that Qualifications have been calculated.

Kvalifikationens gyldighed

Your Qualification is valid for 380 days and you can track the qualification period in your gfny.cc account. If you do a race during your Qualification period and don’t qualify at that race, don’t worry - your Qualification status remains valid, until 380 days from the date you earned the Qualification. If you re-qualify during an existing qualification period, your qualification date is extended to 380 days from that latest qualification date.

Engangskvalifikation

Hvis du aldrig tidligere har deltaget i GFNY, kan du ansøge om adgang til Qualifier Corral på baggrund af tidligere resultater.

Krav:

  1. Du har en UCI Pro-licens eller licens i højeste nationale amatør kategori.
  2. Du konkurrerer aktivt på dette niveau.

Send kopi af licens samt resultater fra dette eller sidste år til det GFNY-løb, du ønsker at deltage i.

Hvis ansøgningen godkendes, modtager du en engangs kvalifikation til dit næste GFNY.

GFNY forbeholder sig retten til at begrænse antallet af ryttere i Qualifier Corral ved pladsmangel.

Start Corrals

Race numbers are assigned by ticket type, qualification status, age group and distance. You can start with your friends if they are allocated to the same start corral as you. If they are in a different start corral, you can move back to start with them, but they cannot move forward to join you. “Jumping” forward a corral (starting in a corral not assigned to your number) will result in 10-minute penalty added to your finish time.

Race corral set-up may vary between GFNY races. Make sure you check the races website for more information. 

GFNY Championship Races

If you finish a GFNY Regional Championship or the GFNY World Championship long course in the top 20% of your age group, you will start in the Qualifier Corral at all GFNYs for the next 380 days.

Overall Champions (Male and female) of a GFNY Regional Championship win flights, hotel and entry to GFNY World Championship NYC to compete for the GFNY World Championship crown.
