Inaugural GFNY Ottawa and the return of GFNY Punta Cana take place this Sunday

 

 

 

New York City, September 10, 2026 – GFNY is set for an exciting weekend in the Americas as cyclists line up for two events on Sunday, September 13: the inaugural GFNY Ottawa, marking GFNY’s first-ever race in Canada, and the highly anticipated return of GFNY Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

 

GFNY Ottawa- Canada

GFNY is excited to welcome cyclists to the inaugural edition of GFNY Ottawa, the first-ever GFNY race in Canada. The event promises an unforgettable race experience on fully closed roads through the scenic countryside surrounding Canada’s capital.

Riders will take on a challenging and picturesque course designed to showcase the best of the Ottawa region. The competitive long course covers 116.2 km with 770 m of climbing, while cyclists looking for a shorter challenge can participate in the recreational medium course covering 64.4 km with 442 m of climbing.

All race weekend activities—including packet pickup, the expo, race start, finish line celebrations, the awards ceremony, and the post-race party—will take place at the Richcraft Recreation Complex in Kanata.

Participants can also join the official GFNY Group Rides on Friday and Saturday, providing an opportunity to meet fellow cyclists, experience the local roads, and prepare for race day.

GFNY Punta Cana- Republica Dominicana

With Punta Cana a classic GFNY is back on the race calendar. Returning on September 13, 2026, the relaunched event brings the full GFNY race experience back to one of the most beautiful cycling destinations in the Caribbean.

The competitive long course covers 144.6 km with 648 m of climbing, while the recreational medium course covers 93.9 km with 530 m of climbing.

Riders will start and finish at Caribbean Lake Park, tackling rolling terrain while enjoying the island views over to the Caribbean.

Participants can also join the official GFNY Group Rides on Friday and Saturday, providing an opportunity to connect with fellow participants, explore scenic routes, and prepare for race day.
