GFNY Bremen transforms Northern Germany into the stage for the GFNY Europe Championship

New York City, August 27, 2026 – More than 2,000 cyclists from over 30 countries will line up this Sunday for the second edition of GFNY Bremen, making it one of the largest road cycling races in Germany. Unlike many mass-participation events with multiple distances, every rider will take on the same 100 km championship course, creating a true head-to-head competition from the start line to the finish.

Located just over an hour from Hamburg and a little more than two hours from the Netherlands, GFNY Bremen provides the ideal setting for high-speed racing. The Hanseatic city combines centuries of history with modern industry and is known for its UNESCO-listed Town Hall and Roland statue, maritime heritage, and strong presence in aerospace and logistics. The predominantly flat course rewards smart tactics, teamwork and sustained speed while showcasing the scenic countryside surrounding Bremen.

Race weekend begins on Friday at Tabakquartier Bremen, the event hub for rider check-in, the GFNY Expo and social activities. Participants can join the official GFNY Bremen Group Rides on Friday and Saturday to preview the area and meet fellow riders before race day. The weekend also includes the Friday Happy Hour at 5:00 pm, bringing together athletes, families, sponsors and volunteers ahead of Sunday’s race.
