New US race: Michelob Ultra GFNY Pittsburgh-Monroeville on September 21, 2025

The Michelob Ultra GFNY Pittsburgh-Monroeville is a brand new addition to the GFNY USA calendar

NEW YORK CITY, October 16, 2024 – GFNY Global Endurance Sports Series adds a new race to the GFNY USA series: Michelob Ultra GFNY Pittsburgh – Monroeville, scheduled for September 21, 2025.

The competitive long distance is 70 miles long with 7756 ft of climbing, making it the hardest race in the GFNY USA calendar.  The recreational medium distance is 41 miles long and will tackle the same 10 climbs as the long route, and the same on-course support and safety. Police officers from every local police department will be posted along the entire route to ensure a safe race for every GFNY participant.

Start and finish will be in Monroeville, just 15 minutes east of Pittsburgh. The course will take riders through scenic Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties.  Expo and packet pickup will be held at Boyce Park, which is a part of the county’s 12,000 acre network of nine parks.

“We are so excited to host GFNY, welcoming cycling enthusiasts from all over the world to Pittsburgh and Monroeville!” says Amy Capcara, Director of Sales, Marketing, and Events of Visit Monroeville.  “We know this event is more than just a race – it’s a showcase of endurance, community, and the love for the sport. Best of luck to all participants and we hope you’ll extend your stay to enjoy all our area has to offer!”

“A big thank you to Pittsburgh-Monroeville for receiving GFNY with open arms,” said GFNY President Lidia Fluhme. “We’re excited to become part of the local cycling community in Pittsburgh and to bring GFNY riders from across the country and abroad to town. Riders will get a tough racecourse thanks to the numerous hills in the area. Bring your climbing legs!”

Registration is now open at pgh.gfny.com/register/. The early bird pricing until October 31 offers a significant discount compared to the final entry fee.
