GFNY LatAm Super Sunday results

Third editions of GFNY Zapopan and GFNY Bento Gonçalves took place last Sunday

GFNY Zapopan (Mexico)

The third edition of GFNY Zapopan unfolded on a fast and dynamic 125.7 km course, featuring 890 meters of elevation gain. Over 1,200 riders lined up at the start line in Parque de Las Niñas y de Los Niños, setting the stage for an exciting day of racing.

In the men’s race, José Ulloa claimed victory in a thrilling sprint finish, clocking a time of 2:43:00. He edged out Fausto Esparza and GFNY Monterrey 2022 podium finisher Tomás Aguirre, completing an all-Mexican podium.

The women’s race was equally competitive. Andrea Ramírez (Patobike BMC) secured the win in a close sprint against four-time GFNY Cozumel champion Ana María Hernandez. GFNY Zapopan 2023 podium finisher Valeria Cruz (Juquilita Cycling) rounded out the all-Mexican podium, finishing two minutes behind the lead duo.

GFNY Bento Gonçalves (Brazil)

The third edition of GFNY Bento Gonçalves was held on a demanding 122.5 km course, featuring a staggering 3,218 meters of climbing through the scenic yet punishing terrain of Rio Grande do Sul’s renowned wine country. Both the start and finish were hosted at Fundaparque, the iconic venue at the heart of Bento Gonçalves.

Defending champion Cristian Lazzari (Avaí Florianópolis) dominated the men’s race, claiming back-to-back titles with an impressive time of 3:32:50, finishing nearly four minutes ahead of Felipe Fossati. Gustavo de Souza (Specialized Racing) completed the all-Brazilian podium.

The 13th annual Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship New York will be held on May 18, 2025. The race features the world’s most international peloton with riders from over 90 countries. It is so international that it’s often described as the United Nations of cycling. Athletes take on a challenging route to compete against each other, the clock, and themselves in a personal endurance challenge.

Cycling – Pro Racing

At Gran Premio New York City, professional teams race the same course as riders at the Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship NYC – but with a 10-minute head start. The second edition will be held on May 18, 2025.

Adding a women’s pro race would elevate the event further. The proposed format would have women starting 45 minutes ahead of the men’s pro race, giving them their own stage. However, the extended road closures required for this addition increase costs by $100,000.

For those interested in supporting women’s racing, GFNY is inviting companies and organizations to help sponsor this important addition. Contact GFNY to discuss partnership opportunities.
