New York City, September 16, 2026 – Two GFNY races took place last Sunday, September 13: the inaugural GFNY Ottawa, marking GFNY’s first-ever race in Canada, and the 6th annual GFNY Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Both races delivered exciting competition and close finishes.
GFNY Ottawa-Canada
The inaugural edition of GFNY Ottawa took place last Sunday, with riders taking on a challenging and fast 117.4 km course featuring 769 m of climbing.
In the men’s race, JP Tesolin took the win in 2:53:55, narrowly edging out Sam Liu in a thrilling sprint finish, while Peter MacEwen completed the all-Canadian podium.
The women’s race saw Canadian Lex Albrecht take the victory in 2:53:58, finishing ahead of Jennifer Bell and Paolina Allan to complete another all-Canadian podium.
GFNY Punta Cana-Republica Dominicana
While GFNY Punta Cana is a classic on the calendar, this edition was organized with a new team, held on a new course and moved from spring to fall. The competitive long course now covers 144.6 km with 648 m of climbing, while the recreational medium course covers 93.9 km with 530 m of climbing. Both experiences outline why Punta Cana is one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful cycling destinations.

In the women’s race, Stephanie Contreras claimed the victory in 3:30:51, ahead of Raquel Restituyo and Yira Zimmermann, completing an all-Dominican podium.
