Dominating solo wins at Michelob Ultra GFNY Pittsburgh-Monroeville
Gorodetsky and Maple take the victories
New York City, September 24, 2025 – The inaugural Michelob Ultra GFNY Pittsburgh-Monroeville took place last Sunday under beautiful late summer weather conditions, offering riders a tough challenge on one of the hardest GFNY courses to date. The long course of 79.9 miles with 8701 feet of climbing made it the toughest GFNY race in the United States.
Multi-GFNY champion Ben Gorodetsky (NYC) delivered a commanding performance, taking the solo win in a time of 3:35:50, finishing an impressive 13 minutes ahead of Sean McCullough (Washington, PA). Shawn Litster of Visit Pittsburgh Elite Team secured third place to complete the all-USA men’s podium.
In the women’s race, GFNY Maryland 2024 champion Laura Maple (Fredericksburg, VA) proved unstoppable. She claimed victory with a dominant margin of nearly 25 minutes over local rider Marissa Pavlinich (Pittsburgh), while Costa Rica’s Edith Guillén rounded out the podium.
Athletes praised the challenging course that combined relentless climbs, scenic roads, and the electric atmosphere of Monroeville, bringing a new highlight to the GFNY calendar.
Next up on the GFNY World calendar are the seventh editions of GFNY Manta and GFNY Chile which will take place this Sunday, September 28, 2025.

Cycling – Pro Racing
At Gran Premio New York City, professional teams race the same course as riders at the Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship NYC – but with a 10-minute head start. The third edition will be held on May 17, 2026.
Adding a women’s pro race would elevate the event further. The proposed format would have women starting 45 minutes ahead of the men’s pro race, giving them their own stage. However, the extended road closures required for this addition increase costs by $100,000.
For those interested in supporting women’s racing, GFNY is inviting companies and organizations to help sponsor this important addition. Contact GFNY to discuss partnership opportunities.
