GFNY Bahamas returns for its third edition this Sunday

International cyclists take on 100 km of racing along Nassau’s spectacular coastline

New York City, October 15, 2026 – This Sunday, Nassau will welcome cyclists from around the world for the third edition of GFNY Bahamas, bringing international competitive cycling back to the spectacular shores of The Bahamas.

Set against a backdrop of turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and stunning Caribbean coastline, GFNY Bahamas has established itself as one of the most distinctive destinations on the global GFNY calendar.

Riders will tackle a fast and mostly flat 100 km course, with the competitive long distance featuring two loops of the scenic route. The medium distance offers a shorter, non-competitive option for cyclists looking to experience the event at their own pace. Both distances start and finish at Goodman’s Bay Park, one of Nassau’s most beautiful waterfront locations.

Now in its third year, GFNY Bahamas continues to showcase the country’s appeal as a destination for international sporting events. The race has been made possible through the strong support and commitment of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, which has played a central role in bringing GFNY to the islands and establishing the event as part of the country’s sports tourism offering.

“GFNY Bahamas is a special event on our international calendar,” says GFNY President Lidia Fluhme. “Few places in the world offer a setting quite like this for a cycling race. The combination of competitive racing, spectacular scenery and Bahamian hospitality makes it an exceptional experience for our riders. We’re grateful for the tremendous support of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism over the past three years. Their commitment has allowed us to establish GFNY Bahamas as an international cycling event, and we see exciting potential to build on that foundation.”

Race week activities will once again be centered at Goodman’s Bay Park. GFNY Bahamas group rides on Friday and Saturday will give participants the opportunity to explore the course, enjoy the island’s scenery and connect with fellow cyclists ahead of race day.

On Sunday, the flat terrain will set the stage for high-speed racing, where positioning, tactics and endurance will be decisive. With the Caribbean Sea providing a spectacular backdrop, GFNY Bahamas offers a racing experience unlike almost any other on the GFNY calendar.

Beyond the competition, the event invites international participants and their accompanying families and friends to discover Nassau and experience the beaches, culture and hospitality that make The Bahamas one of the world’s most celebrated island destinations.
