The GFNY jersey

The vivid green cycling jersey is a GFNY hallmark. When you wear your GFNY Apparel, you are part of a global community, a ‘family’ of like-minded people who come together to share the road and Be A Pro For A Day. After each GFNY, the jersey becomes a badge of honor for the athletes who took part in that race.
The GFNY jersey is your mandatory attire for race day. The jersey is included with your entry fee and you receive your jersey when you pick up your race packet at the pre-race expo.
The GFNY jerseys have the standard European / Race cut. This means they are more fitted than typical American / Club / Drop cut jerseys.

How to measure your jersey size

You can determine your preferred GFNY jersey size by taking an existing jersey that you like and comparing the size vs the GFNY size chart.
Step 1: Take your favorite jersey and lay it out super flat. Make sure there aren’t any wrinkles on the upper or lower layer of the fabric, which may cause an incorrect measurement. Stretch and pull the jersey at the armpits to make extra sure the jersey is laid out super flat.
Step 2: Take a tape measure and measure the armpit-to-armpit length.
Step 3: Compare the measurement vs the GFNY jersey size chart. The top line 1/2 chest width”  is the armpit-to-armpit size, and it’s the most important size aspect of the jersey.
The GFNY jersey chart is in centimeters. If your measuring tape only has inches, use an online converter tool.

GFNY jerseys are unisex

Since 2012, we at GFNY created our own jersey style that has the right amount of stretch to allow to fit over any curve - a woman’s or a man’s, but also sturdy enough to hold the contents of your pockets without that annoying sagging. Tens of thousands of women have worn GFNY jerseys comfortably over the last decade. GFNY’s co-founder is a woman, Lidia Fluhme, and having a perfectly-fitting jersey for women (and men) is extremely important to Lidia.
After fitting thousands of women in GFNY jerseys, we are certain the GFNY jersey cut and style fits athletes of all body sizes and shapes.

Jersey size changes

During your GFNY race registration, you select your preferred jersey size. You can change your jersey size selection in your account any time until 21 days before the race. After the online changes timeframe is closed, you can go to the expo and visit the Jersey Exchange booth. Because only a limited number of exchange jerseys are available, your preferred jersey size may not be immediately available. Check back regularly because size exchanges happen continuously throughout the day and your preferred size can become available.

Jersey size comparisons

General apparel producers offer jerseys in both types of cuts (Euro/Race and Club/Drop), so it’s not possible to compare by brand name. GFNY only produces jerseys with the European / Race cut.
The best measurement is the 1/2 chest width of your existing jersey. In general, a Race Cut jersey can feel 1 size smaller than a Club Fit jersey. If you prefer a looser jersey, consider ordering a GFNY jersey that is 2 sizes larger than your Club Fit jersey.
