It’s GFNY’s second year in the tropical paradise

New York City, November 6, 2025 -This Sunday, Nassau, the vibrant capital of The Bahamas, will host the second edition of GFNY Bahamas. Cyclists from around the world will take on a flat 60.8-mile course filled with the breathtaking beauty of the Caribbean.

Riders can choose between two distances. The long course is a race and features two loops of the scenic route, while the medium course offers a shorter yet equally exciting challenge for those who prefer a non-competitive ride. Both start and finish at Goodman’s Bay, a park overlooking turquoise waters and white sandy beaches — the perfect backdrop for a world-class cycling event.

 “A huge THANK YOU to The Bahamas for making our riders’ dreams come true,” says GFNY President Lidia Fluhme. “Because of the island’s support, riders get to challenge themselves in this spectacular setting. There is no doubt that this race destination is the easiest for friends and family members to join the trip. It might even be them who recommend the riders to choose this particular GFNY.”

Race week kicks off at Goodman’s Bay Park, where activities include GFNY Bahamas’ group rides on Friday and Saturday.  On Sunday, cyclists will race on a mostly flat and fast course surrounded by stunning views, making GFNY Bahamas an unforgettable experience for GFNY riders, families and friends.

Riders will tackle a fast and windy course in historic Colonia

New York City, October 30, 2025 –  This Sunday, the fifth edition of GFNY Colonia offers riders a quick 124.9 km course with just 893 meters of climbing, where the winds of the Uruguayan coastline will be the main challenge of the race.

“Nothing compares to that first race in spring – and GFNY Colonia is just that for many riders in the Southern Hemisphere,” says GFNY CEO Uli Fluhme. “The magic of racing in warmer temperatures after a long winter never fades. And if you’re living deep in the North American fall, Uruguay is just an overnight flight away to give you that spring feeling a second time in one year.”

Race week activities will take place at Comarca Las Liebres, where athletes will enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of Colonia del Sacramento and prepare for race day.   On Sunday, riders will race through a scenic course that passes through fields, olive groves, and vineyards, surrounded by the rich and distinctive nature of the Uruguayan riverfront.

The 95 mile Michelob Ultra GFNY Florida-Sebring is a staple on the GFNY calendar

New York City, October 23, 2025 – The sixth edition of the Michelob Ultra GFNY Florida–Sebring will take place this Sunday, October 26, welcoming cyclists from around the world.

Racing a completely flat 95-mile long course at high speed is tough and makes  it the hardest race in Florida. From the Barn at Paso Fino, the race enters the closed-to-traffic Highway Route 66, before taking on a two-loop circuit through Highlands and Hardee Counties that showcases the region’s open roads and scenic landscapes.

“Michelob Ultra GFNY Florida–Sebring has become Florida’s largest road race right from its inaugural edition in 2020,” says GFNY CEO Uli Fluhme. “It’s tempting to credit the stunning open landscapes the race traverses through. But most riders won’t see much of it given the intensity of the race. They appreciate the opportunity to have a smooth race course and super fun atmosphere post race.”

Race festivities will be centered at The Barn at Paso Fino, where riders and spectators will enjoy a full weekend dedicated to cycling and community. Highlights include the popular Group Rides which will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, giving participants the chance to warm up, meet fellow cyclists, and experience the GFNY spirit.

Fonseca and Flynn take the win of the third edition

New York City, October 7, 2025 – The third edition of Michelob Ultra GFNY Cambridge-Maryland delivered great race action this past Sunday, as riders took on a flat and fast 92.4-mile (148.7 km) course under perfect early-autumn weather conditions on Maryland’s scenic Eastern Shore.

Right from the start, a large peloton of around 120 riders formed quickly, pushing hard over the flat roads and maintaining a high speed throughout the race. It featured strong contenders, including GFNY Maryland 2024 champion Edwin Morel (USA), multi time GFNY Champions Flavio de Luna and Luis Lemus (Mexico), as well as GFNY York 2023 runner-up finishers Steven Nino and Tabare Pichardo (both USA). At mile 46, De Luna launched a decisive and brave attack, opening up a gap of nearly three minutes.

The chase group worked together to close the gap but was eventually absorbed by the main peloton, which organized a strong pursuit. With less than 2 km to go to the finish line, the group finally caught De Luna, setting up a dramatic sprint finish.  Juan David Fonseca (Colombia) took the victory in 3:38:37, followed closely by Iván Romero (Mexico) in second place and Andy Nuñez (Dominican Republic) in third.

In the women’s race, Yuliya Flynn (Team NCVC) stayed with the main peloton throughout the race and claimed the win in 3:40:13, a whopping 21 minutes ahead of Karen Walker. Rachel Liberatore completed the all USA podium.

Next up on the GFNY calendar is Michelob Ultra GFNY Florida Sebring which will take place on October 26, 2025.

New York City, October 2, 2025 – The third edition of the Michelob Ultra GFNY Maryland–Cambridge will take place this Sunday, October 5, bringing international cyclists to the Eastern Shore.

The 92.4-mile route is designed for speed and endurance: flat and fast, with the occasional challenge of coastal winds. The course rewards strong teamwork and steady pacing. Riders will pass through Dorchester County, an area of natural, unspoiled beauty, with stunning views of the Chesapeake Bay coastline.

“Michelob Ultra GFNY Maryland–Cambridge has quickly become a late season favorite for our East Coast riders,” said GFNY President Lidia Fluhme. “This event wouldn’t exist without the fantastic support of the City of Cambridge and funded in part by a grant from the Michael Erin Busch Sports Fund through Maryland Sports Youth and Amateur Sports Grant Program. Thank you for appreciating the value of bringing road cyclists to the area.”

7th editions of GFNY Manta and GFNY Chile took place last Sunday

GFNY Manta (Ecuador)

The 7th GFNY Manta delivered an unforgettable day of racing this past Sunday, as riders took on a challenging 115.3 km course featuring 1,632 m of climbing along Ecuador’s stunning Pacific coastline. With over 500 participants on the start line, the race showcased fierce competition, strategic racing, and impressive performances from some of the region’s top amateur cyclists.

A group of six riders quickly established the lead pack, including former champions Renzo Molineros (2022 & 2024)and Jorge Carranza (2021) as well as Vicente Mendoza, Joseph Andrade (all Ecuador). The group remained together until km 66, when a series of decisive attacks began on the El Aromo climb. Carranza and Andrade worked well together to close gaps, but during this phase Andrade received two warnings for assistance from a personal support vehicle, resulting in a 20-second penalty.

After a rapid descent approaching km 115, the race came down to a dramatic final sprint, with Andrade and Carranza crossing the line together. However, due to the time sanction, Carranza was declared the official winner. Kevin Ruiz and Joseph Andrade, completing an all-Ecuadorian podium.

The women’s race also delivered an exciting finale. Andrea Logroño took the win in 3:37:20, narrowly edging out Paolla Pullas, while Brigith Cañizares secured third place, finishing four minutes later.

GFNY Chile 

The 127.9 km course featuring 1,832 m of elevation gain, offered GFNY Chile racers demanding climbs and breathtaking scenery in the heart of central Chile.

Right from the start, locals Francisco Kotsakis (2022 champion) and Tomás Quiroz launched a decisive attack, breaking away before reaching Casablanca (km 10) and quickly establishing a gap that the 15+ rider chase group could not close.

Kotsakis and Quiroz worked well together until km 60, when Kotsakis launched a powerful surge, distancing himself from Quiroz. From that point on, he tackled the demanding Gran Tunquén descent solo and conquered the steep Tunquén Wall without reducing his relentless pace, steadily extending his lead on the road to the finish line.

Kotsakis sealed a commanding victory, crossing the finish line in 3:21:36 — a full five minutes ahead of Quiroz. The fight for third place came down to a dramatic sprint from the chase group, where GFNY Chile 2024 champion Héctor Dinamarca secured the final podium position, completing an all-Chilean podium.

The women’s race was marked by an equally dominant performance from María Laura Bugarin, who delivered a remarkable solo ride to take the win in 3:53:35, finishing a whopping 24 minutes ahead of María de Solar. Karina Wistuba rounded out the podium after a strong and consistent performance.
